“Is there something you want to discuss or any suggestions you would like me to add?”
{Yuki}
“Maybe… I don’t know…”
{Haru}
“Well, you can certainly tell me anything… Come on, what troubles you, Yuki? Is it anything related to the post for this day?”
{Yuki}
“Not really… Hey, Grumpy Uncle… Have you ever wondered what’s the deal with the symbols on our names? I mean, it looks cool and all but… Yeah…”
{Haru}
“Hmmm… I do not know what you mean by ‘cool’ but they are rather beautiful… Their meanings are even more so…”
{Yuki}
“…so Nika designed them herself?”
{Haru}
(hovers upwards)
“Not really…”
{Yuki}
“Wait, what are they then?”
{Haru}
(flies towards the violin)
“They’re alchemical symbols…”
{Yuki}
“Oh great… The boring lecture again… No, thank you…”
{Haru}
(cleaning the violin with a cloth)
“Well, I won’t get into it if you do not want to…”
(the room became silent for minutes)
{Yuki}
(snaps)
“Aaaaaaarggggh! I can’t take it anymore!!”
{Haru}
(surprised)
“What is wrong, Yuki?”
{Yuki}
“These symbols!!! What do they mean?!”
{Haru}
“I thought you aren’t in the mood for the topic?”
(Yuki became silent)
{Haru}
“There, there… You want me to discuss the meaning of your symbols?”
(Yuki nods)
{Haru}
(goes to the computer and scrolls)
“OK then… Let’s check Nika’s notes… Ah! Here it is”
{Haru}
“OK let’s start with ?… Hmmm… It says here that it’s the symbol for royalty… A crown… Because… Uhhh…”
{Yuki}
“Oh its because I’m a pr…?”
{Haru}
(covers Yuki’s mouth)
“Shhhh… Don’t tell them that… Yet… We don’t want to spoil the readers… Anyway, we’ll have to skip that… Let’s see…”
{Yuki}
(breaks free from Haru’s wings)
“Owww… That hurt you know…”
{Haru}
“…?. In Nika’s notes, this means gold. She says, Yuki likes shiny things and he has a heart of gold…”
{Yuki}
“Oooh… Shiny shiny… But I didn’t know that’s what Nika thought of me…”
{Haru}
“…and it looks like a bird. Because she named you after her beloved white face cockatiel… Yuki-chama”
{Yuki}
“…so that means I’m Nika’s favourite!”
(Yuki flies around gleefully)
{Haru}
(whispers)
“I doubt that…”
{Yuki}
“You said something, Grumpy Uncle?”
{Haru}
“Not really… Anyway… That’s why she chose these symbols because they fit your characterization and, also, for our smart readers to have a bit of foreshadowing for the stories to come…”
{Yuki}
“So cool! How about you Grumpy Uncle? I bet yours are cool too!”
{Haru}
“Let’s see… Ah… Here it is!”
{Haru}
(eyes widened as he looks into the screen)
“That’s…”
{Yuki}
“Grumpy Uncle, is something wrong?”
{Haru}
“That’s all the time we have, we hope you have a great day!!”
{Yuki}
“Wait, you didn’t even explain your…”
{Haru}
“Bye!!”
