“Cabin Fever Part 6”

(Haru slowly approaches Yuki and Calabolt, fixing his gaze on the glowing orb)
{Yuki}
(swiftly tries to cover his shining toy)
“…those were meanie creatures. Even if they look cool like small dragons with dragonfly wings, they leave a big mess. I saved all the shiny cuties and got me a cool reward!”
{Haru}
(sternly looks towards Yuki)
“Cool reward eh? Yuki… You did not save anything. In fact…”
{Calabolt}
“Huh?”
{Yuki}
“Ignore him, Cala-chan. Look at his eyes! He can’t keep them off of my precious treasure. He’s just so jealous.”
{Haru}
(flies right in front of Yuki)
“Where exactly did you find… Clearly, you do not understand how bloomsprites ecology works!”
(a loud scream echoes from the outside)
{???}
(unintelligible screams)
“…skreee!”
{Calabolt}
“What was that?”
(Haru flies out quickly towards the door)
{Yuki}
“Hey! Where are you going?”
{Calabolt}
(follows Haru)
“Oh! It’s those Bloomsprites!”
{Yuki}
“…and also those meanie Dragulyths again. Why I oughta…”
{Calabolt}
“Careful, Yuki. You do not want to be attacked like earlier, do you?”
{Yuki}
(shivers)
“No. But…”
(the bloomsprites scream but to no avail)
{Yuki}
“…we can’t just stand here and watch them get eaten!”
{Calabolt}
“Uhh… I don’t know if we should… What do you think, Haru-kun?”
{Haru}
(whispers)
“As I thought, these Bloomsprites are disorganized. Usually, when their species is attacked by the Dragulyths… Their Queen appears and protects them. However…”
(Haru looks gravely towards the glow coming from Yuki’s back)
{Yuki}
“…every moment spent just standing here isn’t helping! We have to…”
(Haru rushes forward to block Yuki from approaching the Bloomsprites and the Dragulyths)
{Calabolt}
“Haru-kun!?”
{Yuki}
(lands back on Calabolt’s hair and yanks it vigorously)
“What are you doing, Cala-chan? Move it!”
{Calabolt}
“Ouch!”
{Haru}
(ponders as he moves in between the Bloomsprites and the Dragulyths)
“That explains why Yuki was attacked by such peaceful creatures…”
(startled by Haru, the Dragulyths fly a few inches back to observe)
{Yuki}
“Hiyaa! Onwards, Cala-chan!”
{Calabolt}
(runs to Haru’s side)
“C-Calm down, Yuki.”
{Yuki}
(starts to gather strong winds around him)
“And what? Watch them die in front of us?”
{Calabolt}
“No. No, that’s not what I… Let’s wait for Haru-kun.”
(Haru severely glares at Yuki which prompts the young fae to stop)
{Haru}
(looks back towards the Dragulyths)
“As I’ve said before… Dragulyths depend on the Bloomsprites for their nutrition. You should not kill them because of their natural instinct.”
{Yuki}
“B-But…”
(Haru sternly looks towards Yuki, making him flinch)
{Calabolt}
(gently rubs Yuki’s orb, calming him down)
“Let him finish, Yuki.”
(Yuki nods)
{Haru}
(tries to sway the Dragulyths away with his flapping wings)
“However, if the Queen is not there to protect them…”
{Calabolt}
“So… Where is she now?”
{Haru}
“The current one is possibly dead but…it is said that every flower moon marks the birth of a new queen.”
(the Dragulyths roar and hiss, trying to get to the wounded Bloomsprites)
{Haru}
“And YOU left those poor creatures to fend for themselves.”
{Yuki}
“Wait, how come it’s my fault?!”
{Haru}
“Worst, they are now endangered because their new queen will most probably die.”
(two of the flying reptiles goes past the group rushing towards a Bloomsprite)
{Calabolt & Yuki}
“Huh?”
(Haru summons branches and twigs to sway them away)
{Calabolt}
“Good work, Haru-kun! Just in the nick of time.”
{Yuki}
(vigorously flapping his wings to push away the ravenous creatures)
“We could’ve acted much earlier and…”
{Haru}
“We’re not done yet…”
(a whole swarm of Dragulyths now surrounds Yuki’s fortress)
{Yuki}
“Oh no… Not my treehouse!”
(Haru instinctively creates a dome made of thorns to shield them and the Bloomsprite colony from the swarming Dragulyths)
{Haru}
“It’s safe to assume that these Bloomsprites are the last of their kind… They probably won’t survive even if they find their Queen.”
{Yuki}
“Huh? Why is that? And where…”
(without a word, Haru steals the glowing stone from Yuki and flies towards the Bloomsprites)
{Yuki}
“Hey! Where are you taking that?”
(the Bloomsprites hiss in a threatening unintelligible language)
{Haru}
(approaches the hostile Bloomsprites)
“Easy, easy… I’m not here to harm you.”
(cautiously, a Bloomsprite comes forward to face Haru)
{Haru}
“I understand your feelings. That’s why we must work together and try to save her!”
{Calabolt & Yuki}
(whispers)
“He knows their language?!”
{Haru}
“This is yours, isn’t it?”
(Haru bows and presents the shining stone before the Bloomsprites)
{Yuki}
“Hey! That’s…!”
(a Bloomsprite cautiously flies closer to inspect what Haru was holding)
{Calabolt}
(standing guard)
“Yuki, not now! Stay here!”
(a sudden heart-like beat pulsed from the ground as the Bloomsprite touched the orb)
{Haru}
“It’s faint but… she’s still alive.”
{Calabolt}
(peeks through the surrounding thorns)
“W-What’s happening? T-The whole forest outside is glowing on a pulse!”
{Yuki}
(shaking from the vibration)
“Coool!”
(more Bloomsprites rush towards the dome, encircling it while humming a peaceful song)
{Calabolt}
(runs towards Haru)
“A-Are you alright, Haru-kun?”
{Yuki}
(hiding behind Calabolt)
“They won’t hurt us, right?”
{Haru}
“Why would they? Bloomsprites, by nature, are peaceful creatures. And I just returned their Queen.”
{Calabolt}
“Queen?”
{Haru}
“I’ll explain later. We need to make sure that these poor creatures outside survive.”
{Yuki}
“Yeah. But what can we do? You don’t even want us to hurt the meanies!”
{Haru}
“Ughh… then leave it to me!”
(with the Bloomsprites support, Haru channels Majïk to grow a huge wall of thorns swirling around Yuki’s treehouse)
{Haru}
“This should be sufficient enough to stop the Dragulyths attack until the Bloomsprites are strong enough to… arrrgh…”
(Haru falls to the ground from over-using his Majïk)
{Calabolt}
(catching Haru)
“Haru-kun! Are you alright?”
{Haru}
“Yes… I’m fine. But I think I overdid it…”
{Calabolt}
(gently smiles looking at the size of the wall Haru conjured)
“You sure have!”
{Yuki}
“B-But… My h-house…”
{Haru}
“What do you mean? It was already a big mess, to begin with!”
{Yuki}
“B-But… B-But…”
{Haru}
“…ack.”
{Calabolt}
“H-Haru-kun?”
{Haru}
(swipes off Calabolt’s hand)
“D-Don’t worry about me. I’m fine. But we don’t have much time.”
(Bloomsprites rally around the fae)
{Haru}
“W-We need to make sure that the Queen will be born in a safe place.”
